VALVE RESEARCH GROUP - MEET OUR TEAM
The Valve Research Group at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is a collaborative initiative between the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care & Pain Management and the Department of Surgery’s Division of Cardiac Surgery. This group focuses on advancing echocardiography and cardiovascular research. Led by experts such as Dr. Feroze Mahmood, Division Chief of Cardiac and Vascular Anesthesia, and Dr. Robina Matyal, Director of Vascular Anesthesia, the team engages in a variety of research areas. These include basic science investigations into diabetes-associated cardiovascular disease, innovative valve modeling techniques, and the development of advanced echocardiographic simulation tools. Additionally, the group is committed to education, providing training programs in perioperative ultrasound and echocardiography for medical professionals at various levels
